Meet Our Team

  • Mike, LEED AP (BD+C)
    CEO/President
    “Creative Guy & Vision Caster”

Mike has over twenty five years of experience in the construction industry. From his humble start as a laborer for his uncle’s plumbing company to working his way up to a Superintendent position while still in college, Mike almost appeared made for the industry.
Since 1999 Mike has worked hard to develop a skill set that is unique to the industry. He quickly found himself consistently working on Design Build projects or being called upon to create unique services from scratch for his employers. Mike’s extensive experience in the healthcare and federal work arena allowed him very unique experiences and successes.
During the past twenty years Mike has been called on to create a Construction Management division with a primary focus on educational and healthcare projects, lead the business development efforts of a local company, and help to create a completely unique market segment for an established healthcare development firm. It is these experiences that have allowed Mike numerous successes with the creation of numerous divisions and entrance into new market segments, the inclusion into the Top 30 of Healthcare contractors in the United States, and the successful award of over $100M in Department of Veterans Affairs Lease Back clinics.
Now, as the head of two companies (Lucida Construction and their Program Management arm, The Highland Group), Mike has lead the oversight of over $100M in development and construction projects over the past three years.
Mike’s commitment to constant improvement and learning have earned him numerous professional certifications. He currently is a LEED AP (BD+C) professional, as well as holds a Certified Healthcare Constructor certifications and as a ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate. He is a licensed Commercial and Residential contractor in the State of Alabama.
Over the course of his career Mike has served as the President of Leadership Carroll County (Georgia) class as well as the President of Leadership Elmore County (Alabama) classes. His volunteer efforts within the construction industry have extended to the US Green Building Council State of Alabama boards.
Mike is married to his high school sweetheart, who also serves as a business partner in each of their companies. Together they have two children and two dogs, one of which (“Luci”) is the unofficial mascot of the company. Lorie has worked tirelessly as a mom and support team member helping to facilitate the dream and desire of company ownership.
On the weekends you will find Mike trying to find something to do outdoors. His love for turkey hunting and spending time with his family is rivaled only by his ability to sink a fishing boat.
